Hi Su,
A note to say a big thank you for providing the opportunity to train with John Wade. I can’t say strongly enough how much we enjoyed and agreed with his philosophy of companion dog training. When you break down the tactics and back up with consistency, it makes so much sense and can so easily be incorporated into our daily routine. Our Leah and Delilah were EXHAUSTED after the full day (me too!)
John’s analogies were terrific – all of which prompted our respective responses of ‘aha, I get it’ – and of course its interesting and keeps one engaged throughout the classroom portion of the day. Fun and practical.
Our mutual goal has been to have our dogs join us in many family/friends activities and vacations – and my confidence has increased knowing that they will be safe and happy in doing so. But then, what can I say, our girlies are ‘gifted’ and catch on (love that rule of three)!!!
John sent out excellent reference materials which are most helpful as it was a lot to take in to remember.
And thank you, Su and Dave, many times over for our Leah – she is really a great girl and we love her to pieces. For us, taking in a dog between one and two years of age has been different as we’ve always brought eight week old puppies into our home – so we had an idea of what to expect. All Leah wants is a lot of love, a forever home and continuity/consistency. She quickly caught on to our routines and wants to be a part of it all – and knows she has to have good behaviour to do so! Plus she brings her own personality to the mix! Its amazing how far Leah has come since she rescued us in January – she is more confident and less frightened with new people and experiences. And no surprise, she’s excellent with other dogs so never an issue.
And one last comment – the number of compliments we receive on Leah’s coat …. we attribute to the raw diet.
Best regards,
Jo and Larry
