Did he teach you things you didnt know?-Yes. It was a good balanced view.
Did he give you good info on how to look at your dog?-Yes
Did he fix your problem?-Gave me some ideas how to fix them. It would have been better to have severalpractice sessions fixing the problems. If less time was spent on thewalking we would have more time for the problems. We also did not do thelearning how to ‘stay” which he mentioned we would do during hisdiscussion in the morning.
Did you see and recognise other problems in other dogs and did that help you with your own problem? Yes,problems with cats in the house and being aggressive with other dogs.
Did you get enough practice time? No, It was interesting watching a few of the others and then it got boring and then it got really boring. waiting for everyone else to go through. I would suggest smaller classes of 6 people or a larger field so perhaps 3 people can go at once. His assistant could help with more than one person going at once. Or you could use the backyard and the field and split the group in two. This assistant could be in one and himin the other field. Then they could switch half way through.
What did you think of the Nosey Dog Session at the end? Was it fun? Did it take the edge off all the learning? is it something you’d be interested inlearning as a one day or half day class? BTW heard Rosie left many in the dustbut Hopey was no slouch either (their breeding i know but wasnt it fun to seethe labs and boxers ‘get it’ too?)Yes it was fun. I will have to try it. Same comment above rewaiting for the others.
What can we do to improve these sessions? Do both the morning and the afternoon in the same field sowe don’t have to move.
Do you think you’d like an intermediate or advanced session, either 1/2day or whole day? I would likea session for people with two dogs and an intermediate session. As longas not more than 6 people attended or if 12 attend then 2 (plus 4 dogs) shouldbe able to perform tasks at the same time during the practice sessions to speedthings along.
